POSITION:                             Accounting Manager

REPORTING TO:                   Vice President, Accounting

Job Summary

The Accounting Manager will develop and execute a finance strategy in line with Smart Autocare’s objectives, including:

General Accounting Oversight

• GL Management - Oversee input to general ledger and financial reporting systems.
• AP / AR - Oversee the Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions of the organization to achieve Company performance targets.
• Audits / Filings – Contribute to financial audits and assist with miscellaneous external audits, as required. Assist in the preparation of reports required for regulatory filings.

Month-End Close

• Responsible for overseeing the Company’s month-end close process
• Ensure that all accounts are balanced and tie.
• Review and approve all Company accruals and deferrals, as they relate to the Company’s Accounting Policy

Analysis

• Contribute to month end variance analysis, providing explanations for variances greater than expected
• Present findings to the VP Accounting, SVP Finance, and CFO

Coordination

• Work hand in hand with Smart Autocare Client Relations team to ensure agents and dealers are kept in the loop with changes in payment processes or accounting policies
   

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.

Experience with Oracle general ledger platform highly desired

5+ years of experience managing teams in a Controllership or Finance function

Experience working in property and casualty insurance or warranty highly desirable.

Strong Analytical skills with knowledge of Microsoft suite, or other data management tools.

Hands-on leader and a change agent with attention to detail and superb organizational skills.

Excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively communicate with all levels of management.
